Doggon Wheels - Makin' Tracks

Doggon Wheels England"Sam was getting on well using his wheels. We had a lovely time away for the weekend with him on the beach. It was really nice to see him running around and we had to slow him down so he didn't injure himself. He made lots of friends (people and dogs) and we passed on your details to a couple with a big GSD x Rottie we met at the beach. The man came running down the beach with a pen and paper and instructions from his wife to get details. I hope you have been able to help if they contacted you. Will keep you updated with his progress. Many thanks for giving us the chance to see him play again."

Regards,
Lisa Schofield

Doggon Wheels England"It took Ricky all of 3 days to realise that he would be getting back out with his friends! He hasn't looked back. He doesn't realize that steps need a little planning, so we have to think ahead and anticipate his moves. Trees trunks have a habit of getting in his way, as do human ankles. New doggy friends have been curious at first, not sure whether he's animal or mineral. However as soon as they've found the wagging tail, they've been reassured, and he's just been part of the clan. It has been hilarious watching him trying to run with the local puppies, or chase after rabbits. Bless him, the coordination with his back legs has a habit of going up the creek, or he tries to trip himself up. Being able to exercise has meant that he has regained some strength in his back legs, and he can now get himself up - provided he is on a non-slip surface, and he can probably manage about 200 yards unaided before his back legs collapse. This has been an unexpected bonus.I can honestly say that his 'wheels, stabilisers, scooter, walking frame, whizzer, pushchair, cart, bike, bus' have been a Godsend. We've been on buses, trains, in a cable car, he's walked on Hadrian's Wall, there is no stopping us. I'm not shy about having him in the wheels . I'm more than happy for folk to see that he still enjoys life, despite his poor back legs."

Thank you, With best wishes,
Elizabeth Joyes

Doggon Wheels England"Darcy is getting on well with her wheelchair. We promised to send some pictures. We took them when she was out in the snow this morning. It's been just over 3 weeks now, and her wheelchair has given her a new lease of life. We are gradually increasing the distance, but she took to it straight away. We have become the talk of the village! We passed on your details to a woman we met yesterday morning who has a border collie with failing hips. Don't know if she'll be in contact, but you never know!"

Doggon Wheels England"Sadly most unexpectedly we lost Woolly at 21.00 on Sunday night (6/08/06). Gratefully he went peacefully just after we put him to bed with Thumper. He had got his kisses and hugs from us both. We would both like to say a big thank you to you. Had it not been for you and Doggon' Wheels then Woolly would not have enjoyed the Independence he had for the last 16 months, I'm sure without his cart the mobility he did have in his legs would have got far worse for him. We have been sitting here thinking about him both pre and post cart. The strongest memories are those obviously in his cart. We can still see (and hear) him doing the tour of his garden, getting up and down steps and giving us a knowing look when he needed a hand. Today is a 'Woolly Day' with nice warming sunshine. He would now be sitting on the deck feeling the warmth of the sun rays. He would get so agitated after his morning bath as we would take him out to the garage. He knew that it was time to get 'mobile' and run us and Thumper over in the process. Had he not had his cart then on a day like today at most he would have had to be in a run on the lawn, not choosing where HE wanted to be rather us choosing for him. If the same situation was presented to us again then we would not give a second thought to getting him a cart. Our only regret is that we didn't find out about it sooner. We from the bottom of our hearts and Woolly's thank you for providing a means to give him a quality of life that would have otherwise escaped him. Happily now he no longer needs his cart as he has regained his own unaided hoppin & boppin capability on the other side."

Deepest Warmest Thanks,
Paul, Carla and Woolly

Doggon Wheels England"Naz is 9 now, and a diagnosed wobbler, which basically means the messages from his brain do not reach all the way down his spine to tell his back legs to move. He can still walk, although only for very short periods, but he often falls down because his back legs aren't stable.....but with his wheels on, he's like Michael Schumacher! He's totally unfazed by them, and actually sprints now, so much so, that we have to coax him to go a bit gently, just in case he gets too carried away and then ends up with sore legs for days on end! It is absolutely fantastic to be able to take him on a walk and watch him cut about with no problems whatsoever. They really have improved his quality of life, and we are so thankful to you Carol for very kindly helping us fit them to a tee. They are so light and nothing gets in his way. He's up and down pavement kerbs with ease, and we just think they're fabulous. We first saw the carts in a copy of "Your Dog" magazine, and then I looked up your website to read up on them further. We are so glad we found them! Thanks to all for such a great invention, and excellent customer service!"

Best wishes,
Yvonne, Mat & Naz from Nottinghamshire

"I just wanted to tell you how very pleased we are with Ringo's wheels. Although we had been aware for some months that Ringo was suffering from CDRM it was only when he completely lost the use one hind leg that he began to suffer and become very depressed. This rapid decline progressed much quicker than we had been prepared for (virtually overnight) and he really was in quite bad way, to the extent that the vet had advised euthanasia. I am so glad that I did not take the professional advice and insisted that we give the wheels a try before making that final decision. Initially it took him a few days to regain his confidence after which progress has been quite amazing to such an extent that he is currently able to get around the house, can go out into the garden and can take short walks completely unaided, although the wheels are still necessary for longer walks as he has a tendency to roll his feet which causes damage when walking long distances on hard surfaces. Last week we had a day out on the beach at North Norfolk and walking on soft sand Ringo managed a whole day without his wheels and even had a paddle in the sea. I am quite sure that without the wheels none of this would have been possible. I find it quite amazing that our vet did not have any experience of this facility and would have been quite happy to put Ringo to sleep. Ringo once again has a good quality of life and is back to his old self and takes a sharp interest in everything that's going on and once again barks at all the other dogs and generally makes his presence known. Many thanks for your help."
