"I am so happy to confess that I am the person who told Ian (Annie's son) about Doggon Wheels when he mentioned his fear that the family might lose Megan. My knowledge of them came about after my beloved Coffee fell out of my car and severely damaged the crusciate tendons in both her back legs. There were fears that she would not walk again and, being such a healthy dog, so full of life and love, I began searching for something which would make her life easier. And I found Doggon Wheels. While I was discussing purchasing a set for Coffee my vet said that she had been doing work on injuries such as those Coffee suffered and she wanted to try and repair the injuries before we made a final decision. The surgeries done in November 2002 and May 2003 were a phenomenal success. My beloved girl once again bounced around like a puppy even though she was 12 years old. Sadly, a few weeks after the second operation it was found that Coffee had cancer. Once again the vet wanted to try and help her and she went onto a course of chemotherapy with phenomenal success. Then one Tuesday Coffee's kidneys collapsed and at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday 28th July 2003. I bid my tearful farewell to a much loved pet, friend and companion who had given me such joy for almost 13 years. But I will be forever grateful that my earlier research to help my girl gave me the chance to mention Doggon Wheels to Ian and that my recommendation (dare I say plea) has resulted in Megan having a happier and more comfortable life and, in memory of Coffee, I hope, so sincerely, that she continues to improve so that she can enjoy her life and bask in the love of those to whom she belongs."Keith Konopka
| "A BIG THANK you for the wheels. We now have a very happy Toby (dog) who waits at the door to put them on and he doesn't want to come back in. His tails is always up and you can tell he looks happy in them and he is not bothered by them at all. We find he is much better on grass then on concrete is this normal? The vet has recommend he wears the boot every time he is in his wheels. She also saw the wheels and is more then pleased with Toby's progress in them she mentioned she had not seen them before and is very pleased with them. It is nice to see him walk with a straight back and enjoying his walks. Thank you for giving him a new lease of life we know have a very happy dog and owners! The trouble is we are the dog of the neighbourhood every knows Toby has wheels and everyone is looking at him, we just explain why and how it has increased his life and where we got them from." A big thank you again, Christine & Gary Grant and Toby (cross breed) from Daventry Northampton | ||
"Here is Silka in her cart, I waited to try and get good weather, as you can see I gave up in the end. I can heartily recommend this to others as it has expanded her mobility. The cart is great and she is doing up to two miles a day in it in all conditions as you can see! It has changed her life (saved it actually!), as she is unable to walk at all without it. Her back legs are strong but with no control and getting worse."Robin Carter
"Hi, I am Jed, I want everyone to know just how thrilled I am with my Doggon Wheels. I now have my three walks a day again. I am the top celebrity dog in my area and I frequently have to stop when I am out so that people can admire me and my Doggon 'Rolls'".
| "Thank you for the replacement harness for Bo-Bo's wheelchair. She went for her first walk in it this evening and she took to it like a duck to water. I cried when I saw her standing up and walking on the lead - I have not been able to walk her since April. She loved it. I only took her in the garden, but she's going out the the park tomorrow. Thank you for all your help... my vet was well impressed and will be recommending you to his clients." Thanks again, Heather and Bo-Bo | ||
| "Just a quick note to say a huge thank you for our new wheels for Chunky. We were a little concerned as at first he didn't seem interested in using them around the back garden but once we took him up the park there was no stopping him. A week or so on and he's now doing whole laps of the park, socialising with other dogs and going to the loo with ease.Yes, he still cocks his leg! He even gets excited when anyone goes anywhere near his cart when its in the house as he thinks he's going for a spin!" Thanks again, Tony, Annick & Speedy Chunky | ||
"I felt moved to write with a photo of Ben in his wheelchair halfway round a 2 mile walk on Mitcham Common in March, to thank you for the new lease of life the wheels have given him. He regularly goes in the pond on the common with his wheels, though I have to watch him now after he turned the trolley over in the water, no time to take my shoes off, I just had to wade in and pull him out, was he upset at nearly drowning? not a bit, just like in his old swimming days, he dashed excitedly over to the nearest patch of grass and proceeded to try and roll on his back. He is now having full length walks over quite rough territory and he has developed considerable steering and manoeuvring ability. He has also unfortunately become aware of his potential celebrity status and now believes everyone he meets will automatically have a treat in their pocket for him. He became a positive nuisance on the beach at Whitley Bay over Easter and had to be walked on the lead to prevent the warm hearted Geordie dog lovers exhausting their biscuit supplies. He has regained is former spritely and cheeky nature and it is a source of great joy and satisfaction to me that the doubters have been proved wrong. Thank you so much for your excellent work and for making possible such a restoration of my Ben's health and happiness."Dr. Robert Oulton
"I would just like to say a big 'Thank you' for Buddy's wheels. They have given Buddy a new lease of life. Buddy is a four year old Border Collie who was struck down last August by an embolism of the spine - we just got up one morning and his back legs were paralysed. He has recovered some feeling but he cannot stand, let alone walk. When we realized that he would not walk we wondered if it was fair to keep such a young and very active dog alive in this condition. We then found out about buggies for dogs and ordered one from yourselves because it looked as if this one was suitable for most terrains. He took to his buggy straight away. Having been restricted for eight weeks it was wonderful we could now take him out for walks again. We had a few problems at first until Buddy realized his limitations (extra width, allowing for turning, etc.) but now we go out for rambles in the woods, up the Downs and round the village where he is something of a celebrity. Buddy is a lovely dog, adored by our Grandchildren. It would have been such a shame to put to sleep a happy and healthy dog who unfortunately cannot walk - but this might have been the only answer without his wheels. Thanks again, also for the back-up service with wheels etc."Regards, Shirley Smith
"I can't believe what a difference it has made to Bracken over the past few months. It only took him a couple of weeks to feel entirely at home on his wheels and now there's no stopping him! It was last December when he had a fall and severely damaged his back and spine. At that point he had no movement in his back legs at all and the prognosis was bleak. In fact I took him to a specialist who advised that because of his age (he will be 14 next month) he would not recommend an operation and that I should have him put down since he would never walk again. However after the last few months of using the wheelchair his muscles have strengthened and he is even getting movement back in his lower back legs so the nerve damage must be repairing itself. On occasions he has even managed to stand himself up unaided. I took him to see my own vet a few weeks ago and he was astounded at his progress (his words not mine) and the quality of life he now has. In fact in some ways his life has improved since he no longer needs the medication for arthritic pain he was taking before his accident. However the moment I knew he was really happy was when we were out for a walk and Bracken deliberately rolled himself upside down (still in his wheelchair!) so he could rub his back on the grass. No sooner had I got him back on his feet than he did it again! Whatever happens now I know I did the right thing in getting the wheelchair and giving Bracken a new lease of life. Thank you again."Kindest regards, Stuart Rae
"Just to let you know Biggles is having a marvellous time now he is mobile. He's taken to it like a duck to water. He speeds through the village and, on Wednesday, I took him down to Lyme and he scooted along the promenade and then down on to the beach. I hosed it down after to get rid of the salt water as he found the sea very tempting. Thanks for the instruction sheet and all your help."Annie
